President & CEO

Founder of Lit Green, Inc., Andy grew up in England, where he studied electrical engineering. After college he worked with stage lighting, building lighting and power systems, and desiging lamps. Over the past 40 years, Andy has the following accomplishments:

  • Produced the HP600 (in the ANSI standards catalog)
  • Patented the DLD ‘ParPlus’ adjustable focus PAR lamp retrofit
  • Won an award product excellence at the 1996 PLASA show in London
  • Designed and patented a non-imaging optical device, winner of a Department of Trade and Industry award from the UK government.
  • Developed the world’s first high frequency (RF) lamp ballast for ARE lamps.
  • Consulted with Philips Lighting & GE on this product development project.
  • Headed the new product development department of Altman Stage Lighting.
  • Designed and built an entire range of ceramic metal halide architectural luminaries
  • Won the Theater Crafts International award for the ‘StarPar’  PAR 64 beam projector
  • Developed numerous reflector/lens systems.
  • Designed & built the ASL range of Film and TV lights, which went on to be used in the Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings, recent James Bond movies, and many others.
  • Ran the research & development department of Phillips worldwide – from the early stages of LED chip.

Andy founded ANL (Andy Neal Lighting Ltd), where he designed and patented the award winning ‘ILLUMA-TUBE’ LED lamps and associated electronic drivers and power distribution. Since 2010, the Illuma-tube lights have been in operation on the Walkway Across the Hudson, at the time the longest LED illumination on Earth according to the Guinness Book of World records.

Andy’s the father to two young boys. As such he’s passionate about power harvesting and storage systems, making DC coupled LED lighting a 21st century standard. Perpetual light, anywhere on planet Earth.
